From October 19 to 22, President Jiang Hui of CCCMC led a delegation to London to attend LME Week. Focusing on the sustainable development of mineral supply chains, the delegation conducted high-level dialogues, industry exchanges, and multilateral discussions, and engaged with government agencies, international multilateral mechanisms, industry organizations, and upstream and downstream enterprises, achieving positive results.
During their stay in London, Jiang Hui and his delegation visited the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and held in-depth consultations on opportunities for China-UK cooperation on sustainable development in minerals, forestry and broader fields. They also met with Maria van der Hoeven, Chair of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Board, former Minister of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands, and former Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, to discuss leveraging the International Economic and Trade Cooperation Initiative on Green Mining and Minerals and the EITI platform to help Chinese enterprises enhance their international transparency governance.

The delegation advanced international standards dialogue and cooperation, attending the ICMM Responsible Mining Leadership Forum and holding bilateral talks with the Comprehensive Mining Sustainability Initiative (CMSI) on standard updates, pilot implementation, and alignment and mutual recognition. It also met with institutions and companies including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the London Metal Exchange (LME), the Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI), the Cobalt Institute (CI), the World Gold Council (WGC), the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA), Glencore, and Global Witness.
During the visit, the delegation attended the London Metal Exchange (LME) dinner and co-hosted with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) a seminar titled “Multilateral Cooperation to Promote the Sustainable Development of Global Mineral Supply Chains.”
Going forward, CCCMC will continue to advance practical cooperation with international organizations, industry associations, and enterprises across the industrial chain, and will act as a participant, builder, and practitioner in helping drive the sustainable transformation of global mining.
