On March 25, 2026, the 33rd China Metals, Minerals & Chemicals Industry High-Quality Development Conference, hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals & Chemicals Importers & Exporters(CCCMC), was successfully convened in Beijing. The three-day conference, themed “Building Consensus, Pooling Strength, and Opening New Frontiers,” focuses on in-depth discussions of innovation pathways and sustainable development models, aiming to support the industry in opening up new prospects amid changes and fostering new opportunities in the face of challenges.
At present, the global economic and trade landscape is undergoing profound adjustments, while industrial and supply chains are being rapidly restructured. The metals, minerals, and chemicals industry is at a critical stage of transformation and development. This conference has brought together approximately 1,000 representatives from government departments, diplomatic missions in China, international organizations, industry enterprises, and research institutions to jointly discuss strategies for cooperation and development.
Participants include representatives from government departments and institutions such as the Ministry of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the General Administration of Customs, as well as officials from local commerce authorities of more than 20 provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Zhejiang, Shandong, Hebei, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Heilongjiang, and Hubei. In addition, diplomats stationed in China from over 20 countries, representatives from international organizations such as the World Economic Forum and the International Tin Association, and enterprises across the upstream and downstream industrial chains, including those in metals, minerals and chemicals, new energy, logistics, and finance are also in attendance. The board participation of all parties demonstrates a strong shared commitment and concrete actions by both the industry and the international community to jointly respond to changes and promote high-quality development.
Li Chenggang, China International Trade Representative (Ministerial Level) and Vice Minister of Commerce, attended related events of the conference and delivered a keynote address. Tang Wenhong, Vice Mayor of Beijing; Liu Jiannan, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; and Jiang Hui, Chairman of CCCMC, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. Liu Danyang, Executive Vice Chairman of the Chamber, chaired the conference, and Liu Zhonghui, Vice Chairman of the Chamber, was also in attendance. Cheng Chun, Second-Level Inspector of the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce; Fernando J. Gómez, Member of the Executive Committee of the World Economic Forum; Gao Zhikai, Vice President of the Center for China and Globalization; Shen Bing, Director of the Institute of Market and Price Research at the Chinese Academy of Macroeconomic Research; and Wang Lixin, Chief Executive Officer for China at the World Gold Council, delivered keynote speeches. They provided in-depth analyses of key topics including the foreign trade outlook, global economic governance, the 15th Five-Year Plan, and trends in the gold market.

During the conference, CCCMC and its Green Mining Committee signed strategic cooperation agreements respectively with the International Tin Association, the Global Battery Alliance, and the Joint Initiative for Sustainable Development of the Global Photovoltaic Industry, to further deepen international cooperation in green minerals, new energy and sustainable development. Meanwhile, the conference held the certificate presentation ceremony for the 2025 Credit Rating Evaluation of the metals, minerals and chemicals industry.
The conference organized a series of thematic forum activities, including the Green Minerals International Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar, the Metals, Minerals and Chemicals Industries Exchange Meeting and High-Quality Overseas Expansion Forum, the 8th Council's Second Session and Standing Council Meeting, the General Meeting of Council Chairpersons, the Rare Metals Market Seminar, the Potash Fertilizer Forum, and the Sanitary Ware Industry Exchange Meeting. These sessions focused on pragmatic discussions on topics such as green transformation, trade and investment integration, supply chain stability and the global market outlook. During the conference, the 4th “Spring Rendezvous” Reception and the launch ceremony for the “Hundreds of Enterprises, Thousands of Villages” Public Welfare Initiative case recommendations were also held, highlighting the positive achievements of Alliance of Chinese Business in Africa for Social Responsibilities.
The conference organized on-site industry visits, arranging for participating delegates to conduct inspections at Alibaba, Meituan, Lenovo Group, and Longfu Temple, in order to gain an in-depth understanding of Beijing’s industrial development and experience the city’s cultural and humanistic appeal.
Delegates unanimously noted that, amid a complex and severe external environment, the metals, minerals and chemicals industries have demonstrated strong confidence in facing challenges and taking proactive action. During a critical period of transformation, all parties have built consensus and pooled efforts, responding to changes and promoting development with a pragmatic approach of joint overseas expansion, open cooperation and compliant operations. These efforts have injected strong momentum into the high-quality development of the industry, steadily advancing toward a more open, green and sustainable future.
