CCCMC Vice Chairwoman Qian Jingfen attends the Sino-South Korea Future Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum

On September 20th, 2022, the Sino-South Korea Future Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations was successfully held in Seoul. Sponsored by South Korea’s Asia Daily and Economic Daily, this forum is supported by the Chinese Embassy in South Korea, the Korean Federation of Backbone Enterprises, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in South Korea, the ROK Ministry of Industry, Trade and Resources, and the ROK Ministry of Risks of SMEs.  

 

Xing Haiming, Chinese Ambassador to South Korea, Guo Yongji(郭永吉), President of News Asia Corporation, and other guests attended the forum and delivered speeches. 

 

With the theme on the future economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea, the forum focuses on industrial chain and supply chain cooperation in the fields of information and communications, digitization, new materials, and so on. 

 

 

Vice Chairwoman Qian Jingfen was invited to attend the forum via video link, exchanged views with representatives from China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, Korea Industrial Research Institute and LG display Materials Research Institute in regard to "key directions of future cooperation between China and South Korea in emerging industries". 

 

 

In her speech, Vice Chairwoman Qian introduced in detail the profound changes and considerable development of trade and investment in minerals, chemicals, building materials and new materials between the two countries since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, stressed the important role of China Korea Free Trade Agreement and RCEP in promoting bilateral trade, and expounded the endogenous driving force and great potential of bilateral trade. She also expressed CCCMC’s willingness to continue to strengthen its role as a bridge to work with South Korean industry associations to build a high-level exchange platform and CCCMC’s confidence in jointly promoting the high-quality development of economic and trade cooperation with the South Korean side, which were warmly received by all parties attending the forum. 

 

 

Other topics included "current situation and prospects of economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea" and "cooperation opportunities in local industrial parks of China and South Korea in emerging industries". The forum provides an opportunity for government officials, experts, scholars and representatives from the related industries to discuss ways to build up the industrial chain, supply chain and value chain of the two countries. 

 

Commemorating the sound economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea over the past 30 years in Seoul, the forum will strive to play a positive role in deepening, consolidating and stabilizing future development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
