Equatorial Guinean Ambassador to China Obama visited the Alliance

On October 9, 2024, Equatorial Guinean Ambassador to China Obama visited the Alliance and had effective exchanges with the Executive President of the Alliance Diao Chunhe on deepening the exchanges and cooperation between the Embassy and the Alliance and promoting the development of health care, industrial investment and other aspects of Equatorial Guinea.

 

 

President Diao Chunhe welcomed the visit of Ambassador Obama and his delegation. He said that after the China-Africa Industrial Cooperation Conference held by the Alliance on September 7th, there are a number of "large and excellent, small yet beautiful" projects that need to be implemented urgently. The Alliance hopes to establish a long-term liaison mechanism with the embassy to keep communication channels open; Jointly organize market promotion meetings and other economic and trade activities to enhance mutual understanding between the two countries and promote precise alignment of needs. In addition, the Alliance will fully support Guangdong New South Group in promoting its anti-malaria work in Equatorial Guinea, and hope that the Ambassador will pay attention and support to this, as well as working with the Alliance to accelerate the project to achieve substantive results. In June next year, the Alliance will hold relevant industrial cooperation activities after the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, and invite government officials of Equatorial Guinea to attend the event to promote the domestic market and quality projects to the Chinese side.

 

Ambassador Obama thanked President Diao Chunhe for his warm reception. He acknowledged the research on the latest situation of malaria in Equatorial Guinea from Guangdong New South Group Co., Ltd. Malaria has been plaguing the people of Equatorial Guinea for many years, while the cooperation with Guangdong New South Group in the fight against malaria is conducive to the health and well-being of the local people, and look forward to seeing the relevant solutions put into practice as soon as possible. The President's twice visits to China this year have also fully demonstrated that Equatorial Guinea will welcome Chinese enterprises to invest and do business there with a more open attitude and more favorable policies, and the Embassy will provide support and convenience for the cooperation between Chinese enterprises and domestic sector of Equatorial Guinea. The Embassy will seriously consider and actively respond to the activities in June next year.

 

At the meeting, Dr. Deng Changsheng of the Artemisia Annua Research Center of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine reported to Ambassador Obama the latest progress of malaria research in Equatorial Guinea, which has formed a complete and feasible program and has been recognized by the relevant departments of Equatorial Guinea.
