On September 23, 2024, the Executive President of the Alliance Diao Chunhe visited the Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea to China, H.E Mauricio Epkua Obama, and both sides had in-depth discussions and exchanges on the recent work and future cooperation areas. Also present were Zhang Weiwei, Chinese Secretary of the Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea, Li Tiantian, Director of the Alliance Office, Zheng Yao and Song Maokun.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Diao Chunhe specifically thanked Ambassador Obama for his participation in and support for the China-Africa Industrial Cooperation Conference organized by the Alliance on September 7th. Subsequently, he briefed the Ambassador in detail about the related introductions of the Alliance and the "100 enterprises and 1,000 villages" initiative, and invited the Ambassador to participate in a series of economic and trade investment promotion activities such as "Ambassadors visiting the Base". Such activities aim to enhance understanding between China and Africa, promote deeper industrial cooperation and more accurate supply chain connection. The Alliance is looking forward to establishing a close cooperative relationship with the Embassy for mutual benefit. He said the Alliance will give full play to its own advantages and provide support for potential areas of cooperation between the two sides.
Ambassador Obama extended a warm welcome to President Diao Chunhe and his delegation. He fully affirmed the positive role played by the Alliance in guiding and supervising Chinese enterprises' investment in Africa. As the Embassy, they are willing to establish closer cooperative relations with the Alliance and jointly promote the in-depth cooperation between Equatorial Guinea and China in the fields of mining, industry and so on. In addition, the Ambassador also mentioned that they are currently promoting the construction of industrial parks, hoping that the Alliance can make suggestions in this regard. In the future, the Embassy will further strengthen the contact with the Alliance and support participation in related activities of the Alliance. He also welcomed the members of the Alliance to visit Equatorial Guinea to gain an in-depth understanding of the local investment environment and market potential.
