The World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2017, also known as Summer Davos 2017, concluded in Dalian, a port city of Northeastern China's Liaoning Province, June 29, 2017. China Premier Li Keqiang attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech. The theme of the forum is Achieving Inclusive Growth in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The forum attracted more than 2000 entrepreneurs, policymakers and experts from over 80 countries. CCCMC Chairman Chen Feng was invited to the forum.

Chairman Chen was invited to the discussion of Global Responsible Battery Materials Forum. He introduced CCCMC’s prominent contributions to the building of global responsible mineral supply chains and the initiatives and action plans advocated by CCCMC to assist Chinese enterprises in avoiding and addressing health and human rights risks and challenges in outbound mining investment.

Guests of the forum conducted exchanges of views and experiences. And, all of them hoped to promote the inclusive, innovative and sustainable development of the alliance of global battery materials supply chain.

In April 2016, CCCMC and OECD jointly initiated the Responsible Cobalt Initiative (RCI). Currently, RCI has 13 members including the upstream and downstream enterprises of cobalt suppliers. The current priority of RCI is the child labor issue in the mineral industry of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which has made preliminary achievements. RCI has the common vision and goals with the battery alliance advocated by the World Economic Forum.
