CCCMC Chairman Chen Feng attends Sino-Japan Environmental Protection High-level Roundtable Dialogue

On June 14th, 2017, under the guidance of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China and the Ministry of Environment of Japan, Sino-Japan Environmental Protection High-level Roundtable Dialogue jointly hosted by Sino-Japan Friendship Center for Environmental Protection and Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA) was held in Beijing. Vice Minister Huang Runqiu of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China and Senior Counsel of the Ministry of Environment of Japan attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

CCCMC Chairman Chen Feng was invited to the meeting. CCCMC was assigned the position of Vice Chairman Unit of the Alliance of Green Consumption and Green Supply Chain as one of the founding units of the alliance.

Guided by the spirit of promoting green way of development and green way of living, the meeting focused on the green transformation experience of Japan and green consumption policy innovation. Representatives of both Japan and China witnessed the launch of Alliance of Green Consumption and Green Supply Chain.

 

The Alliance of Green Consumption and Green Supply Chain is comprised of 109 members from institutions of higher learning, research institutes, examination institutes, enterprises and social organizations.

The purpose of the Alliance is to advocate and promote green consumption to conserve resources, protect environment and improve environment quality. In the field of green consumption and green supply chain, the alliance aims to serve as a bridge of exchanges and communication between government, enterprises, society and the public. The alliance also aims to promote information sharing, technological R&D and innovation platform building and provide a window on experience exchanges, outcomes presentation and sharing, thus promoting ecological civilization and green development.


In 2014 and 2015, CCCMC compiled and released the Guidelines for Social Responsibility in Outbound Mining Investments and the Chinese Due Diligence Guidelines for Responsible Mineral Supply Chains successively. After that, CCCMC formulated the Sustainable Mining Action Plan with the support of UK Department for International Development(DFID), GIZ and the Ministry of Commerce of China to implement the two Guidelines in a scientific and systemic way.
